The Monroe County Reporter won three awards for advertising excellence at the Georgia Press Association ad conference on Friday, April 13.

The Reporter’s ad for Your Gold Broker in Forsyth won second place in the service/institutional category. A testimonial ad for Central Georgia Golf Cars featuring Hill Daniel of Forsyth, for whom the company retrofitted a golf cart, won second place in the motor vehicle category. Finally, a Reporter ad, What they’re saying about the Reporter on Facebook, won second place under newspaper promotion. It included comments from readers praising the Reporter for its excellent news coverage.

Reporter publisher Will Davis said the awards re-affirm what he already knew, that the newspaper has a top-rate and hard working staff.

“These awards are due to the excellent work of our staff,” said Davis. “Graphics designer Amy Haisten has a talent for building ads that draw eyeballs and are therefore effective for our customers, and our sales representative Carolyn Martel does an excellent job helping businesses craft a message that builds their clientele.”

The awards were presented at the annual Advertising Conference on Friday, April 13 at Sea Island.
